Viva!
We had a lazy morning - no surprise there after our late night! My lazy morning consisted of tidying the kitchen then unpacking and setting up my iMac! I had the expected problem setting up the email but I resolved it fairly quickly much to my relief! Then we went down into the village as I had been asked to photograph the arrival of a local celebrity who was to open the newly refurbished kitchen in the village hall! The celebrity was Viva - the 82 year old punk rebel! ( Actually 85 now!)The link will tell you all about her! She arrived in style in an open topped car, which circled the pub twice before the chauffeur stopped and assisted her out! There were 5 photographers in all, including AH14 and myself so she had the paparazzi she so appreciated! She then made her way to the hall and the Pimms!
This task over with we headed to Ince Castle, a private house and garden which opens 6 times a year for charity. It is informal yet utterly romantic, comprising of a sundial, summer, white, castle, water and kitchen garden, a snowdrop wood, wisteria lawn, a tennis court, swimming pool and bowling green! Also the finest selection of snail sculptures which I fell in love with on my first visit there over 2 years ago. We only had an hour and a half before it closed so we fairly whizzed round but still managed to miss having tea and cake - but I did buy four fruited scones to have at home with strawberry jam, clotted cream and strawberries after our evening meal! I then spent time importing photos and learning the iMacs ways! A fairly reasonable bedtime for us both for once! 1 am for AH14 and 2 am for me!! I hoped we didn't regret it in the morning as we had a walk on Dartmoor with some friends and coincidentally rather fine blippers!
