Traumatic

That moment of indecision when you've split the birthday bar of chocolate that belongs to your mama and try to bring yourself to give your mama the biggest bit....

She woke me up at 4.30am, too excited for my birthday. I convinced her to go back to sleep though I couldnt. We had decided we would get up and go for a run before doing "birthday-y things" but she poked my arm and sang her own version of happy birthday then gave me the card she had made.

We had an amazing 8km run in glorious sunshine then she spent a long time in the bath. She lined my presents up that she'd bought and wrapped all herself, in the most fabulously child wrapping way kids do. They were adorable presents. We had planned a picnic but it was looking like it was going to rain so we had a garden picnic. And of course it got beautifully sunny!

Lunch was quite late and we were both a bit tired. She had a bit of play time but we decided we'd have a snuggle in bed for a bit. She read, I tried to sleep as I had a headache. She decided she was sleepy and curled up cuddling my feet. I didn't sleep. She at least did! My brother phoned and the talking woke her up but it was about time to get sorted anyway.

She did a bit of clarinet as I pottered round getting myself ready to go out for tea. We had a really lovely meal with my sister and family. A relaxed, fun time and tasty food. I even had a small glass of wine when I had put Katie to bed, courtesy of my sister.
