The last supper

Tonight I met up with the gang from my Wednesday practice for a farewell meal for the lovely Nomi.

Today was her last day working there; I'm going to miss her sooooooooo much.

She'd asked me for a reference, so when the new place rang me yesterday, I told them what I said I would tell them.... that she was rubbish at her job and not to hire her.....so that she would have to stay with us!
Joking aside, she's a fabulous nurse, has the biggest heart of anyone I know and has become a special friend to me.
When the new place asked if I'd anything to add (once I'd answered their official questions), I said they are lucky to have her.
They probably thought I'd been bribed to say it, but they'll find out soon enough that every word was true.

The meal tonight was a lively one; they're more like family than colleagues so we always have such a good laugh though the tone lowers after a few drinks!. The dynamic hopefully won't change too much in Nomi's absence, and although she may be replaced at work, she won't be replaced in our hearts.

It was emotional at times tonight, but I managed to hold my composure until I started to write this blip! .

We will keep in touch; I know people always say that but we most definitely will as she's too lovely a friend to lose.
