Sad end

It’s the sad legacy of the summer of 2016, the demise of a one-time high street giant.
The final closure of all BHS stores around the country creates a void in the shopping community.
It is not for me to reason why, nor to speculate on the causes which have led to the end of stores like this one in Salisbury but all round the country, yet the demise of a retail giant after nearly 90 years prominence in town and city centres, spells the distressing end of an era.

The full impact will be measured over the weeks and months ahead.  In the meantime the sight of shops closed down on this scale is heartbreaking.
