The forecast said overcast but dry. By 11 am it was raining heavily and some of the people who had arrived at Longshaw early started to leave. Many had trusted the weather forecast and had come ill-prepared for wet conditions. Of course there were plenty of hardy souls who laughed at the weather. One lady pointed out to me, with typical British understatement, that it wasn't as nice as yesterday. But as I pointed out, it was somewhat better than Thursday. While we have typical British weather, we'll never be short of scintillating conversation!
