All in a day's work
Forestry duty today at Longshaw. This was my view for most of the day - not too shabby! This was accompanied by the wonderful aroma of freshly cut conifers. Sadly, the sounds were not quite so delightful - two large pieces of machinery thundering about their business of chopping down trees and moving and piling up timber.
I spent most of the day chatting to visitors and diverting them around a mown path whenever the tractor moving the logs was using the main track, I also spent an hour or so moving brash to protect the area of a medieval settlement from the large tyres of the monster trucks.
