Rook

You know you are well and truly home in Edinburgh when the streets are choc-a-bloc with tourists speaking every language under the sun and it's raining.

However His Lordship and I beat the rain with a certain amount of satisfaction, to shop in Princes Street and George Street where we came across this 14ft galvanised steel chariot horse-Rook, from the Game of Kings chess set by the Kelpies sculptor Andy Scott. He made it as a commission to celebrate  the 150th anniversary of the Jewellery shop Hamilton and Inches in front of which it stands.

The horse was a reminder of the two beautiful *horses who lived in a field over the fence 6 feet from our cottage door in Sutton and who came at all times of the day to say hello in the hope we had something on offer to eat.
