Olympic Fever

...We have it well and truly. This time next week we will be in the Capital, exploring the venues and enjoying the atmosphere. So Katie, Monkey (who she has already declared must come to the olympics) and I have decided on a bit of a mini-series to celebrate what has taken me by surprise to be something very big to her, and I. She has been telling me today that her and Bobbobs are going to do nastics together, and Bobbobs' Mummy & I are going to watch and cheer. I certainly expect many early stage versions of this story, given their current love for gymnastics. As for the Olympics, well, let her dream big!

We spent a very lovely morning with friends today. They introduced to a music session we've not been to before. Katie had a wonderful time with Eleanor. The session involved a fabulous yet totally imaginary trip to the beach on a train, which they both loved.

After the session, we went to their house and the big girls played beautifully. They did dress up, colouring & stickers, lets pretend and were really happy to play together. We all had lunch before the girls had a happy time in the garden.

A quick pit stop in the coffee shop (Katie has been an absolute calf today, milk, milk and more milk) we did a spot of pre-holiday shopping. I found a bargain dress for Mummy, then a cardi to match it and other dresses, and even managed to sneakily buy a couple of "to put away" birthday presents for missy.

Since coming home, she has been watching the men's team artistic gymnastics final and reruns of the womens. Repeatedly. Including, I admit, a rather sad but humorous men's vaulting clip where the GB gymnast lands in a judge's lap.
