Future Olympian

Katie is SO bewitched by the whole Olympic shenanigans. She was really excited by the gymnasts this morning, watching it on the train to Scarborough. She declared that she would "swing high like the lympics". I dont know if she's learnt the rings mean the Olympics, but she knows that the Olympics means allsorts of different sports. She has loved the swimming, really loved the swimming. She demonstrated to me and Granny how she would dive in (as per the photo) and then do big fast tiger arms like the big ones in the water. She again enjoyed the rowing too, loving that its where we are going to go. I decided I would get her a little tshirt for the day and she's really excited because it has the Team GB lion on, and Mummy has ordered the same. And fabulous ribbons for Katie's bunches.

We went for brunch with Uncle Fantastic and Lissy, Granny & Grandad. Uncle Simon drove us for the first time (and did great, bro!) We had a really leisurely brunch, with lots of Olympics to watch, lots of cuteness from Katie. A gentle stroll along the front back to the car, with Katie skipping along with Lissy. They had to go home then, so we stayed at GrannyGrandads for a play. Katie did a mountain of drawings. And we played in their exciting new electric recliners. Katie rather loved when I took her for a ride up and down in it!

She fell asleep on the train home late afternoon, so bedtime is looking a little late today. We briefly met a friend who's just moved over here and her mum, who we've not seen in a very long time, so it was a lovely end to the day!
