Fossils Unite
The second day with a car and the weather continues to favour us with blue skies, puffy clouds and no wind.
We headed for Burwick as far south in the Mainland as we could go, with The Scottish Mainland looming just a leap away across the Pentland Firth, although the water looked quite turbulent as the ferry from John o'Groats came in.
After a tour of St Margaret's Hope which features in my blip, we had an indulgent lunch in the Fossil Centre at Burray, and a look round the small museum there, beautifully designed by blipper Northern. It features fossils found in Orkney, with detailed explanations of life through the millennia gathered from their study, and a historical floor devoted to archives and war time memorabilia.
Home to Stromness in the sun- the weather gods are really favouring us this year.
