Day12- Three Bipping Maids are We
It's the early bird that gets the weather, and I got the best of the day when I went out in sunshine at 7am this morning to climb up Brinkie's Brae, the small hill behind Stromness made famous by a George Mackay Brown.
His Lordship's knees were recovering from the onslaught suffered on our post prandial evening walk lat night and declined the invitation to accompany me.
Three hours later and with the weather becoming windier and a sea mist hanging ready to attack we walked along part of the coastal route in Orphir before joining the worthies including 3 retired minister at the Orphir Kirk coffee morning.
His Lordship owned up to his original religious orientation but they continued to smile at him. Also present were our Dower House house sitters now safely returned into their own community.
More socialising for me when HL dropped me off at the Fossil Centre to lunch with Blippers Poppy and Northern while he chose to make himself scarce.
It was lovely to meet the ladies and spend time with them.
Home in Stromness now with the papers, looking out at a miserable view of mist and rain. Even the natives think the cold drizzly weather is a bit un-June like.
