Dragon Alley

In an early morning pursuit of a newspaper, I found myself lured into a circular tour of the Dower House's locality which included the Vennel and the Grassmarket. I thought from there I could cut through Greyfriar's Kirkyard, but the lower gate was locked and I had to climb Candlemaker Row where I found this gable end mural. It is celebrating witch craft and wizardry in the city with nearby buildings well suited to the birth of the Harry Potter books and Hogwart's Academy

Having secured a blip early on, it was a mighty relief to spend the rest of the morning window shopping in Kinnaird Park without having a camera in my pocket.
I have my eye on an Ercol coffee table and must now convince His Lordship to have his eye on it too.
