Finally...A Spoonbill

I don't have much luck with Spoonbills. They don't pose well, tending to fly off when you get close.

I was on a road where I usually spot turtles...when I saw a flash of pink...and THEN...I HIT THE BRAKES!! Good thing there wasn't anybody behind me!

He/she let me get to within 10-12 feet. Me in my car (no place to pull over), and the bird in the ditch.

I love the coloring and the eye, and of course...the bill.

My apologies to the lone turtle I saw.
