The road to nowehere - now

In the past however this track led to at least three small settlements and an Inn. It isn't as good as this all the way and indeed in about a kilometre becomes a barely visible sheep-track. This section however has been beautifully constructed and makes the walk a pleasure. Not what one always says here, alternating between metre tall heather and metre deep bogs.
We were only walking to the first settlement called Cailternis, a pretty huddle of ruins on the shore with a further collection just inland. It would have been a hard life then.
