Back to the beginning

It was a very early start but a very straightforward journey and I got to the girl's in time for breakfast. She was at work , I had a nap, and then went out exploring.
This is where my family come from but we moved out to the country when I was a child, so I hardly know it or know my way around. And I have lived in the country far too long - the city is very daunting!
But the reason for my visit is to start to overcome that - something made much easier by smartphones and route planning apps!
Anyway one of today 's little missions was to find the place where I was born.
And here it is, the German Hospital, Hackney, opened in 1863, closed some when in the eighties, now turned into what looked like quite nice apartments.

Later I met the girl for a curry then we went to Hackney Picture House to see the film Amy, about Amy Winehouse. Beautifully done and very sad.
