their numbers have proliferated in the garden since we went completely organic, and since we provided several small ponds for them, and the slug population has correspondingly declined. 

Better weather by far.  Although an assault of horseflies made being in the garden unpleasant. 
Mostly though I was getting ready for my next trip to the UK, on the (very) early morning flight to Stansted tomorrow.
