Our Big Diamond Jubilee Family Lunch

da da da da...long to rain over us! well, it'd started raining at 11pm last night, and it was set in for the whole day. the marquee was still up, a few damp chairs, but we were still going to party on. everyone was set to arrive at 2pm.

made my Eton Mess in the morning, followed by Summer Soup. had an early doors celebratory whisky with Uncle D, when i popped round to pick up a table...it was 10.30am!

the marquee looked fab. i set the table, union jack everything! i'd bought everyone a royal face mask, mums was a special one with the Queen wearing a headscarf! everyone arrived with tonnes of food! we could've fed the avenue! Prawn cocktails, soup, fish n'chip cones, shepherds pie, chilli, coronation chicken, sausage casserole, beef & guinness pie, salmon, trifle, eton mess, banoffee pie, ice cream, cakes, strawberry sandwich, cheese and port....the list is endless!

for my blip record, the picture shows from l to r, mum, greg, matt, li, mandy, alex, millie, hollie, kylie, ash, claire, andy, uncle pete, auntie pam, rene, liv, leia, uncle d, aunty ellen. we sang the national anthem a couple of times and raised our glasses many times!

back inside, and the tv on showing the fantastic Diamond Jubilee Thames Pageant, a thousand boats (li commented, there's a lot of boats there....understatement!).

later Christine & Arthur arrived, and Pete and Kirsty, and also Bro, via the wonders of webcam from Isle of Man. what a memorable day for us all. partied on through the wind and persistant rain, our wonderful family to celerate HRH's 60 year reign! fabulous
