Through the Ages She's heading West

Here's the thing,  I have this North South / West East thing with my body.   

I can be stood anywhere, and I can sense where Arran is (that is Arran across the water), and adjust my sleeping position to suit. 

Arran sits to the west of my house. 

I like to lay north / south or south / north with my body in a line with Arran. 

Plays havoc if Si is sleeping the right way round on the bed. 

Anyhoos.  Here is the Sun setting at 8.05 pm....   I have several points to ponder. 

1.  I thought the sun always set in the west.  My blips over the past 5 years have proven to me that this is not the case. Why? 

2. If the sun sets at 8.05 pm; and it sets because it drops behind this Mountain; does it set later than that if I was stood on the top of a hill (the hill that I sometimes stand on to take Blips). 

3. If the sun sets at 8.05 pm on my beach, If I was on the other side of that mountain, possibly in Campbelltown would the sun be setting later?   

Oh my, have I just witnessed in action the day getting longer the further west you are?  Heavens. That is why Steven is still having morning when I am having night time... the sun is always setting a little further away.
