Dining in Style

For  as long as I can remember, the Old Manor House in the town centre at Romsey has been a restaurant.
The building itself is one of the most imposing in the town, and a plaque on the wall reveals that it was built around 1540.
I remember when I was first introduced to the restaurant many years ago,  my first impression of a handsome, timbered, 16th-century building, with leaded windows on the outside and huge inglenook fireplaces inside remained with me over the years along.
It has long ago moved on from being a simple, yet widely recognised family owned business, serving the best of Emilia-Romagno dishes to become a Prezzo restaurant.
The menu is still Italian, although in a very different vein, and I was encouraged to hear there was a complimentary glass of Prosecco for every mother who dined there on Mothering Sunday.
As it happened we ate at home today, but the one thing we did have in common was the Prosecco.
That was a few glasses ago, and the lady of the house really had little to do to prepare lunch.
Bon appetito!
