Childhood Adventures
Wisdom, experience and being of a certain age may be one thing, but there are times when I wish I could revert to childhood days.
On a day like today for example, when the construction work over the past week by a newly opened McD near us, finally unveiled its secrets. Call it a new-fangled playpen, a youngsters’ gym, even a junior assault course, or climbing frame, but clearly designed for an active junior.
So it’s on occasions like this that I wish I could spirit myself back in time and join in the fun. It’s the same with child play areas in parks. Oh, how I would love to be able to get on a swing or a see-saw. And realise all those childhood ambitions I once had.
This one says plainly on the notice at the base — “this equipment is designed for children from age three to ten and under 1.35 metres tall.”
So fat chance that I could ever have the experience of enjoying something like this, and my children, and grandchildren, are also past this age.
So live on. Sit and enjoy your McD, ice cream or coffee, and allow the equipment be enjoyed by those who are of the correct age, indeed would even show up my lack of ability to even get inside!
