Still tired

What's black and white and read all over?
A newspaper.

What's black and white and red all over?
Charley at bedtime.

Haha :)

Still tired today.

There was a protest outside the school we meet in as a church this morning. They were supposed to be marching towards the seafront but apparently decided to stay put and generally harass anybody coming or going for church. In a nutshell, there are some individuals in our church who are members of a (non-combative!) pro-life group, and this band of protestors were accusing us as a whole of attacking womens' rights. I think that was the gist of it anyway. They mainly seemed to just be shouting abuse and the various bits I did hear made very little sense. It bugs me that people are either so unwilling or unable to think for themselves that they allow themselves to get worked up into an angry and abusive mob by newspaper articles which have been skewed to provide sensationalist headlines, and a twitterverse that doesn't do any research and is basically gossip.

Thankfully there was a lot of (very friendly and helpful) police around to keep an eye on things. Ben was particularly fascinated by a mahoosive police motorbike on the way home so we stopped and said hello (we were on foot) so Ben could see the bike properly but Ben did one of his old tricks of completely and utterly ignoring the policeman and the bike, in the apparent hope that if he ignored them for long enough he'd disappear. Not seen Ben like that in a while! Maybe the mob and the pretty big police presence had got to him a bit.

Ben appeared to want to go to a cafe for lunch but it turned out he only wanted a bottle of water! When we go to the supermarket cafe he has a bottle of water at the cafe with his chips, and that's what he wanted. We had chips as well, Steve's getting gooood at cooking home cut chips :-)

This afternoon really is summed up by this: the volume level and sound production amount from a three year old boy is inversely proportional to the amount of sleep his parents have had over the past couple of nights.

He has sung at high volume all afternoon, pausing only to breathe and mop up spilt water, until he collapsed and fell asleep while watching Bear Grylls.

Good night!!
