Hill-Tribe Culture
I live with students from 4 different hill-tribes. Whenever they are talking with someone who grew up in the same area, their language automatically switches to their hill-tribe language (aka, something I can't understand.) Along with language, each hill-tribe has unique food, dress (like those represented here), traditions, way of handling problems, beliefs, etc. To be surrounded by so much culture is beautiful.
Recently a friend was explaining how her hill-tribe culture counts the months. A month for hoeing, a month for planting, a month for cutting trees, a month for building houses, a month for harvesting, etc. So much more practical than January, February, March...
