The Overnight

Continued from yesterdays blip...don't start here! go back!

So, we walked. For 18 miles through Brooklyn and NYC. We saw the Statue of Liberty, the Hudson River, the Intrepid, the NYC Skyline, the Staten Island Ferry, Herald Square. We walked past the pier that we sailed from after Prom and the chicken and rice stand we so frequently eat it. We walked over the Brooklyn Bridge twice and saw the sunset and then rise again. Out of the Darkness. We walked for those suffering from depression and other mental illnesses, for the families and friends of those who have lost someone to suicide, for those who have attempted suicide themselves, and to prevent people from trying in the future. But, most importantly we walked for our friend Jackie. Every step, every mile was in her memory. We'd all walk to the end of the earth if we knew we could bring her back. But hopefully with these 18 miles the and the money we raised we were able to save another person's life. Because you never know what a difference a night could make.

We didn't sleep, our feet ache, and our legs hate us right now but we can all agree that every step was worth it and we'd do it again in a heartbeat...Out of The Darkness 2012, San Francisco?

Thank you again to all my family, friends, and fellow blippers who donated to me and my teammates. This was all possible because of you and Team Jackie is extremely grateful for your generosity.

(this is one of the luminaria bags that one of my teammates made. these bags were spread out all over the park at the end. each one had the reason who or why a walker was walking written on it. it was really beautiful to see them all lined up.)
