Ethan & Mrs42

Ethan woke up this morning with a very runny nose. Other than that, he was very cheerful, in fact much more so than usual. Hubbie went in to work to do some overtime, so Ethan & I breakfasted together, before he had a long play session. I even managed to clean the downstairs loo, put some washing on, empty the dishwasher and clean the cat litter tray - all this before 9am. Not bad going for me!

Later in the morning, we went up to the Howden Park Centre. We were meeting Mrs42 & Toddler42 and MrMissusB & Lucinda as we all had tickets to go and see The Presents. It was a great performance and the children all really enjoyed it. Ethan adopted a chilled out pose and lay back on my lap with his hands up round his head for most of the performance. Much better than the last few theatre type shows we've been to where he has tried to climb around within minutes! Baby42 was particularly funny when she kept saying "hiya" to the cello!

It turned out though that Ethan was so chilled because he wasn't feeling well. He started looking flushed and not quite right, with his nose streaming. Mrs42 and I stayed to have lunch at the venue too but Ethan fell asleep in his pushchair and missed out. Even when he woke, he didn't want anything other than a few strawberries.

He fell asleep in the car on the way home again though although he woke when we got back and he was really upset. After some calpol, snuggles with me and then snuggles with hubbie, he fell back asleep and didn't wake up till 4.30pm. Hubbie and took advantage of this and managed to watch a whole film we'd Sky+'d about a year ago!

Ethan didn't really want any dinner either. He only managed a few spoonfuls of macaroni cheese and peas, a few more strawberries and didn't even finish his fromage frais (which is usually a dead cert for demolition). Hope he's feeling better tomorrow.
