Butterfly Cookies

Our not well boy from yesterday had a bad night. He was crying in his sleep a lot which woke us up just about every hour. I only had to get up once to settle him though. That was around midnight and a dose of baby nurofen soon helped. However he woke for the day at 5.20am - ugh!

By mid morning he was shattered so I decided to take him down to The Centre as I needed a few bits and pieces and was sure the walk in the pushchair would send him to sleep. But no. Two hours later he was still wide awake and had spent half that time being grumpy and wanting to walk by himself! We got back home and he had a wee bit of lunch. However, other than being tired and having a wee bit of a runny nose, he was now cheerful enough, so I decided to go to the Butterfly Tea Party which was being held at the 42 establishment. Ethan fell asleep in the car on the way there and I was feeling very chuffed that I managed to get him in the pushchair and into their house without waking him ... until 2 minutes later he woke up and did not want to go back to sleep. Considering how long he had been up for, he was in great form and loved exploring their house and trying to examine the contents of their kitchen cupboards! He also enjoyed devouring the homemade butterfly cookies on offer but it was hard to get a decent photo as he didn't sit still for long.

We left just after 4pm and finally, Ethan fell asleep on the way home. Transferred him from the car to the sofa when we got back and he had a 1/2 hour nap. He was VERY grumpy when he woke though although he did eat lots of the baked potato and ratatouille I'd made for him. He didn't want his bath which is unusual so it was a swift bottle of milk and then bedtime.

And now the usual Sunday evening mad dash to get things done before it's back to work tomorrow.

(Have also just spotted my 2 year ago today blip and realised it's 2 years today since I found out I was pregnant with Ethan)!
