Making memories

On Saturday, our group of family and friends divided into a group of girls and a group of guys. The guys went with Bob to the Penn Relays at his Alma Mater, the University of Pennsylvania. Many years ago, when we were college students in Philadelpha, he competed in the pole vault at the Relays, so he was looking forward to going back and taking our youngest grandson who runs track for his high school. Bob also met up there with his sister who drove over with her husband from New Jersey to spend time with him...so, a mini-family reunion was made possible.

The girls and I skipped the Relays (although I do like track and field) and spent the afternoon wandering around the historical district and center city of Philadelphia. We puttered around a street fair, "shopped" for jewelry at Tiffany's, stopped for a mid-afternoon snack or two and finally met up with the guys at Penn's Landing on the Delaware River where we found a great Italian restaurant. By that time, I was almost too tired to eat, but it had been a fun day, and we made lots of good memories.

In the picture my daughter and her friend are standing with their daughters in the middle of a narrow cobblestone street in an old section of the city.
