Summer's here...sort of!

The calendar says it is only the end of April, but I thought summer had arrived today, so I took a drive out to the Arboretum and wandered around for a couple of hours. I think I caught a glimpse of a scarlet tanager, which is a great bird to sight, but unfortunately it didn't hang around long enough for a blip, so I blipped this scarlet flower instead. Not being a gardener, I don't know much about flowers except the very basic ones, such as daffodils, dandelions and roses, so I hope someone can tell me what it is.

Our thermometer soared up into the 80s today, and now, at 9:30 pm, it still reads 77 degrees. Yay! Hopefully we won't have any more snow. We celebrated our summer-like weather with ice cream cones tonight...chocolate peanut butter for me! The weekend is here. Have a great one, Blippers.
