My Grubby Darling

We love Fridays. We love all our days, but Fridays particularly. The girls really enjoyed gymnastics. Especially a game that involved rolling plastic eggs down a fairly steep slope made from the crash mats. Katie put herself down the slope too.

We went to soft play afterwards. The girlies were more interested in playing with each others shoes, with watches, hats, breadsticks than playing. Until about five minutes before we were all going to leave, of course. They then suddenly were entralled with the slide, loving jumping on blocks etc etc!

Katie had a really decent nap, although I had to hold her hand and put one hand on her face until she fell asleep in the buggy. I managed to find her some pretty little summer bits (just a hat, a very cute one, and some pretty socks to wear with dresses/shorts etc). She woke up in a good mood, but she always is as soon as she realises its swimming.

She had an absolute ball at her swimming lesson today. She really was loving it. I took her in her wetsuit and that combined with the warmer weather, she seemed much warmer in the pool, so didn't get at all cold even once. She was doing some serious swimming today, and loved playing 'under the magic bridge'- particularly when she realised sarah wasn't going to drench her when she went under (which is what laura, our supply teacher, does!) Today when they did humptydumptys, Katie actually said 'Safe place' when she reached for the wall.

We did a shop after swimming, we've got family over at the weekend and I discovered I didn't have enough plates, so bought a couple as well as food! We've had a lovely play since we came home, reading lots of books. The animal ones are a favourite and she's loving doing the names and noises. The light in the lounge is beautiful late afternoon, and I loved this picture. Especially as she's just a bit grubby - sign of happy, busy day in Katieworld.
