Ouch!
This morning at about 3 am Liam was in alot of pain and crying for some pain medicine. His neck was hurting really badly and making me worried because he had also been having headaches the last couple of days. I gave him some ibuprofen and within about 45 minutes he was able to sleep for a couple more hours.
When everyone woke up, I made breakfast and their lunches and took them all to March Madness church camp...all except for Liam. I made him a doctor's appointment for 2:15 (the earliest they had) and we had to go run a bunch of errands. Liam wasn't thrilled about that part, especially since he had to walk around with his head tilted to one side. :(
I was able to finish getting the clothes for the church directory pictures, went to the bank and then by the business to drop some umpire shirts to be embroidered. By the time we were done with errands, it was time to pick the kids up again and head to Kaiser with Liam. The wind and rain were beating down on us! All 4 boys walked with their hoods on and their jackets zipped up covering their faces. They looked a bit thug-like in retrospect.
Once we got to Kaiser, they took Liam's vitals. His blood pressure was a bit raised, but the nurse assumed it was because of the pain. The doc checked him out and suspected he had a 'wry neck'. Basically a strained neck muscle that will give him some pain for about a week. The only thing we could guess is that he strained it at the batting cages the night before. He sent him home with a cervical collar to wear and we picked up more pain meds, allergy pills, etc. at the pharmacy. No gymnastics for Liam tonight, nor baseball, nor PE this week!
After Loren's haircut and 4 sweets later for the boys, we got home and Ryen was picked up just in time for me to make a uniform delivery for Loren's team. By the time we got back, all of the coaches were stopping by for their team uniforms. It was hectic with the constant knocking on the door and dividing up goods. My goal, though, was to have everyone out of the door by 7 pm so we could get the whole family looking nice for our church directory pictures scheduled for 8 PM. We made it to the picture appointment just in time, with our jeans on the bottoms and black shirts on the top, and didn't leave until about 9:15. I was impressed at how the pictures turned out and it has been ages since I've had a professional picture of the 3 boys together. I think, in fact, it was during the last directory picture 4 years ago!
After pictures it was a LATE night of take-out dinner and Survivor in front of the T.V. I think the kids are liking these late nights of Spring Break....but I, on the other hand, am EXHAUSTED!!!!
