Spring Soccer Opening Day 2012
Today marked the opening day of spring soccer and it was a blustery one....certainly didn't feel like spring! We spent from early morning through the afternoon on the soccer fields. Liam started out playing a game (which they won), then Loren reffed two games and then Landon finished the day with his game (which they won as well). It was a momentous day for Loren, as these were his very first games to ref since 'graduating' the ref class and passing the test. He was a bit nervous, but did a great job and I'm so proud of him for being willing to try this at such a young age. I tried to stay far, far away when taking pics of him so not to embarrass him. I know he's equally excited about receiving his first paycheck. Landon's team is combined for spring with U5/U6 boys, so it's an amusing bunch. Many of them see the ball and are just mesmerized by looking at it. So funny! Alot of Liam's teammates from fall returned to spring with just a few new kids, so the team had a feel for each other's strengths already.
Although it was nice to start up with the new spring schedule today, we were just so happy to go home and thaw out! We had a triple-movie marathon and BLAT sandwiches and cuddled under blankets. The movies consisted of Jack and Jill, The Three Musketeers and The Muppets.
