I live in a small village in South Devon, halfway between the wild, open spaces of Dartmoor and the coast, close to where I was born.
The area offers many photographic opportunities and there is nothing I enjoy more than getting out and about with my camera.
The thrill of seeing a wild animal or bird is only surpassed by successfully capturing an image of it.
The same goes for that fleeting glimmer of beautiful light on the fields or sea.
I feel very privileged to share my life with 2 parrots, Stan and Lucy and a mad, young boxer dog Jorgie.
My ‘other half’ is known on here as Jorgie’s dad but he has lost his blip mojo of late. Too busy playing golf!
As an art teacher and then later, as an artist, I always used a camera.
Back then taking photographs was just a small part of the creative process.
A change of career to a dog home boarder 10 years ago put an end to any time for anything else.
It wasn’t until I decided to retire last year that I picked up my camera again and subsequently joined blip. I thought the discipline of taking a daily photo was just what I needed to get my photo mojo back.
Here I am 12 months on and loving the daily challenge and the support of this fabulous, friendly community
I’m still only semi retired but photography has become a huge part of my life.
As the new decade begins I have set myself some new photographic goals.
Pop into my journal from time to time to see if I achieve them ;-)
