Field Study # 2
Another beautiful morning and really warm from first light.
Cas and I enjoyed an hour or so wandering around the field, following a variety of birds as they began their busy routines.
This robin was the most obliging of all as he constantly returned to the post at the end of the raspberry canes.
This evening we took a trip up to the moors again hoping to catch sight of cuckoos that we had heard calling last night while walking at Holwell Lawn.
For a while it seemed that we would be out of luck and then the calls started, frustratingly from the very place we were last night, that we could see across the valley.
We weren't in any hurry to leave as we were enjoying the views . See extra.
Suddenly a cuckoo was calling very close and we were able to watch it through binoculars, a first for jorgiesdad.
Unfortunately it was still too far away for a decent photo but no doubt we will return to this stunning spot again soon on another cuckoo hunt.
