Photography is a means to an end for me, not the end itself.  I enjoy taking pictures but I'm not interested enough to learn all the finer details.  The 'end' for me is to take a few decent photos and keep a record of what is going on in my life, so my Blips are more of a Blog or diary than any attempt at anything too artistic.  A North Easterner by birth and a Southerner by work, a banker by trade but never one of those that earned obscene amounts, and now retired to North Norfolk.  I have a decent phone camera which is much easier to carry than a DSLR so a lot of shots will be taken with that, but for any decent photo opportunities I prefer the Canon DSLR or occasionally my compact Olympus.
