The real reason that the poor NBC employee who posted the 1994 clip of the national morning news crew sounding and looking daft for not knowing what the Internet is, is that he posted something that made the national morning news crew sound and look daft. All that hooha about rules and not having permission. Let's be real.

Good Encouraging news: - A good indicator

A hundred years of anti-whaling laws and thirty years of restrained dumping of sewage into the ocean has brought the whales and dolphins back. Just a bit of clean water and not to be killed; that's all they needed. Word is that tourism in NYC will pick-up due to whale, seal and dolphin watching. It is doubtful that the type of people who enjoy watching marine life would visit New York for that. I'd rather go to Alaska for those kinds of excursions, myself.
