Hyacinths

These are on the windowsill by my desk, where I sit at my laptop. I have been nurturing them for weeks and now they have beautiful blue, fragrant flowers. Like myself, they do tend to lean towards the light though!

Had a great time last night. Went to a Burns supper, with vegetarian haggis, plenty of red wine, a wonderfully gooey choclolate cake and a not so wee dram of good Orkney whisky (thanks for sharing, Steven!). Then today I went to the birthday lunch of an old friend. What a great life - plays havoc with the New Year's resolutions though, as I have not one iota of willpower!
