365 Days

Today is the day I celebrate my 'blip-versary'. This is a term I wouldn't have known a year ago...but one that blipfoto is good in celebrating. I've made it a whole year in my one-photo-a-day journal!

I haven't made it completely consecutive, but haven't missed too many days considering I did start at the end of January this past year. I've really enjoyed recording these memories this past year as well as taking a peek at the photographs from this wonderful, encouraging blip community. My goal is to close each year printing my journal and gifting the journal/pictures to my boys.

It's been a challenge some days to snap a photograph. I think some pictures are mundane, but realize down the road I might like to remember a glimpse of our life caught in these pictures. Some days it's not a challenge to snap a picture, but instead to choose which out of the many pictures that I want to spotlight. I find it most challenging on those days when several 'events' occur.

The wonderful part of blipfoto is that if forces you to look at things you may have overlooked had you not been on the 'hunt' to capture a daily photograph. It's a kind of 'stop and smell the roses' philosophy. That's the part I like. I may only have an iPhone on hand when those moments happen, but a photo will last a lifetime.
