Feasting for Korean New Year
Korean New Year typically doesn't hold much significance in our family other than consuming a whole lot of Korean Rice Cake & Dumpling Soup. Although I grew up separately from my extended family, many a summer and winter were spent with family in Korea, and most of my memories involve learning how to make Korean food while listening to my aunt & cousins tell me about the history behind certain dishes. What can I say? Food kind of takes center stage on both sides of my family. :)
My dad tells me it's -17deg at his house, so hopefully a picture of this morning's soup will help warm his belly. Happy New Year, Daddy~!
**On an unrelated sidenote, my prayers & thoughts are with the nations of Egypt, Jordan, and Australia during these times of political unrest and natural disasters.**
