The new bridge

It's Wednesday, so it's walking day.

The start of this walk was a very misty one for the 25 of us who set out from Gilsland. The leader was disappointed because we could not see the views he had arranged for us! As usual we had a great time. I took a few photos of bare trees in the mist, having seen some superb ones at the Photo Society on Tuesday. (The speaker was Peter Dixon from Whickham.)

When we were near Thirlwall we tested out the new path which is being put in by the Northumberland National Park. They assure us it will be ready for our Festival in May. We particularly like the new bridge beside the old stepping stones. Here we are testing it for strength!
