Scarecrow?

Back to the garden in search of a photo today as it is very grey and miserable here and I'm unlikely to venture out anywhere more interesting.

Sorry for posting yet more dead things (lets hope spring comes soon), but I liked the different shapes of this seed head. It is from a globe thistle, (Echinops I think), that flowers happily each year at the end of the garden and is a favourite for the bees and hover flies. It has pretty blue spherical flowers in the summer. Now, there is very little of the flower head left, just the circular middle and some of the fluffy seeds.

Some of the seed heads looked like mini sputniks launching into the sky but this one looked more like a scarecrow with fluffy epaulettes.
