The Homestead

Had a difficult time deciding what to post as today'd blip, so left the choice to Mrs. Joesblips who went with the totally non arty one of the two, adding that her Finnish friends have never seen where she lives, so this has to be the blip for today. Our house is about 3 miles from the town in small estate of about 30 houses. There ore no ameneties close by. No shops, no cinema, not even a pub. For anything at all we have to go into Arkow Town.

Not that we are going anywhere right now. Last night it froze on top of the previous snowfall. Then it snowed again. Then it began to freeze again just before the sun came up and held the temperature at about 1C. Now it's beginning to freeze again. With no salt or grit on any of the roads we are not prepared to drive anywhere. It's too dangerous and too stupid so we will just sit it out and wait for the thaw which the met office promise us MAY come in about 5 days time. The head of the school where Mrs. Joesblips works just sent a text message to say that the school will be closed until further notice as a lot of the pupils come in from outlying areas such as ours.

Our house by the way is the last one you can see on the left, with the now leaf free birch trees in the back garden. The field between the camera and the house is the same field into which the mouldy roses were sent on a flying lesson the other day. Have fun everybody,with or without snow.
