.........into the wide blue yonder....

Today was anti-bullying day at work.

The kids (and staff) got to wear "normal" clothes.....providing they paid £1 which went to charity...and wore something blue. One little lad in my science class forgot and turned up in full uniform....and then in a blinding flash of inspiration...and with a touch of genius... turned his blazer inside out to reveal a blue lining.

I was so impressed with his ingenuity I paid his £1 for him!

I had to leave early today to go and get a flu vaccination, not for me, but because my sister started her chemotherapy today and she has to now be as infection free as possible for the next 6 months, so if I want to see her I needed the jab. It meant I got home before it went dark, and today has been the first bright day for weeks, so I took this shot of the blue sky to go with the theme of the day.

I phoned my sister tonight, she's been as sick as a dog but only once so far, we'll see what tomorrow brings. She's facing six months of chemo, then a month of radio and then an operation, but hopefully she'll be good at the end of it. She knows she's going to suffer but this first reaction should be the worst and it should get steadily less, so here's hoping this first time isn't so bad. She's a tough little bugger, always has been, hard as bloody nails, so I'm sure she'll cope, but I'll be keeping my eye on her just in case. She's over 100 miles from here but we'll go up to see her when she's over this first treatment.

Hope you all have a good weekend, Das vidanya
