10 Years
This is Ben, showing you his nose. We were singing "if you're happy and you know it touch your nose". I love mornings at home, we don't get dressed until we have to (sometimes not until just before Daddy gets home), and I get to take pictures of Ben in the lovely morning light when it seems to be at its best and he is at his happiest. There's some more here.
I was going to do a sentimental blip today. I had it all planned and everything, it was going to be mine and himself's hands, entwined all romantic like, showing off the fact that I have a wedding ring again. Two and a half years I have not worn a wedding ring. Basically since pregnancy when I took it off, scared that it would get too tight. And then it never fitted me. I found and got my engagement ring resized, but my wedding ring seemed to have got lost in the house move. So when mum came to me a few weeks ago and gave me a little velvet bag with my grandma's wedding ring in, we were both a little overcome with emotion. It's back from the jewellers having been resized - correctly - and my finger is complete again. 10 years ago today I put a wedding ring on that finger and it only really came off my hand for baking purposes.
Anyway.
I never did get round to taking that photo.
Just before Steve came home I thought I know, I'll get the fire going because it's a little chilly. And I'm pretty good at getting the fire going. Apart from today, when for some reason I failed utterly and instead managed to fill the house with smoke. And couldn't utilise my brain enough to figure out that opening all the windows would help clear the smoke. And then when Steve came home and opened all the windows and got the chimney drawing properly and cleared all the smoke out I couldn't close the windows!! So, on our 10th wedding anniversary, I've managed to prove to myself and to him that I couldn't live without him. Fair do's, I suppose :)
Happy Anniversary, lovey :)
This morning I had a bath. And Ben helped me. He scooped soap bubbles up and rubbed them into his hands and face and hair. He regularly went and dried his hands and face, and then he tried to dive into the bath. *sigh* So after I tipped him back out again and he attempted to dry himself off again he came back and did more face washing and hand and arm washing and general getting in the way.
He had a bath after me, it seemed only fair.
The bathroom got a good soaking too.
It's dried out now, just....
Hopefully this weekend we'll get some proper flooring down and some tiles on the walls so that the bathroom stands a better chance of coping with Ben's bathtimes.
