Sunday Lunch
Found some money in the bank account, so decided to take the mother-in-law out for Sunday Lunch. Well, we decided it was fully deserved as she had come down here for the weekend to escape from some family troubles. Without trying to bore everyone, lets just say that young love doesn't last for ever and lets face it; no-one can sort it like mum.The question is: Are mobile phones a good or bad thing? Suffice to say, Jayne did enjoy her lunch and even managed to squeeze in some pudding for good measure; thus keeping up my tradition of not letting people leave my house hungry.
The White Swan, near Eastleigh has come in for some critisism of its food, and its customer service. Some people have complained about having to wait 40 minutes for a table. Now, call me old fashioned, but the wait suggests that the place is popular; and in my opinion, the food is well worth the wait. In our case, we tucked into a good carvery dinner of beef, turkey and pork with all the trimmings. We even managed to arrive there before the queues built up. I have to say though; there is no better place to wait for your dinner than the riverside terrace. Oliver enjoyed cheeking around after his dinner, watching a couple of lads fishing, and doing some duck spotting. A plane flew overhead on its approach to the nearby Southampton Airport, but I hadn't quite got the camera out in time. Well, there's no point in moaning about it. I'll just have to go back another weekend, more prepared and ready.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. No sign of snow yet, but I keep hearing things!
