Pips Galore

Today was a great improvement on yesterday.
There was no early visit to the gym but a leisurely breakfast at my favourite cafe where I heard all about the hold up there on Sunday by a knife wielding man.
The cafe was full of people at the time which didn't seem to deter the guy who was disguised and wearing gloves. It's unlikely the myriad of police and CD guys who descended on the place will manage to find him.

I must say, daft as it was, I looked up every time someone entered the cafe this morning however unlikely it was that he would return for the meagre breakfast takings of five people.

I had the luxury of an empty house today with his Lordship away on unknown ploys.
It's strange how liberating it is to have no-one else in the house. Of course it used to happen all the time with husband at work and children at school, but retirement means there is always an extra presence in the house.
A friend of mine used to say,' I married my husband for better or for worse, but never for lunch on a Tuesday'.
There is much truth in that!

I seem to have put the cat amongst the pigeons by mentioning in my blip yesterday that I had my book group today. The nominated hostess read this and panicked as she had it in her diary for next week.
I was wrong. I don't like being wrong but at least it gives me extra time to read the book and more time for A to bake a delicious cake.
