Blind Date

I had a flying visit this morning to the 'Dear Green Place' to meet up with my favourite Glasgow blipper and a bit later, daughter #4.
I killed two birds with the one stone so to speak. I hope they don't object to the terminology.

It felt like a blind date, as I had only seen the back of G's head from her journal and she had seen me as I was in the wet T-shirt competition issuing from the sea at Gullane , a fairly horrendous blip kindly put on Blipfoto for public display in the summer.
Notwithstanding, we managed to recognise each other and spent 2 hours, which disappeared far too fast, over tea discussing this and that, but mainly that, being lenses and techniques. I was interested in her new macro lens and was able to pass on some of David77's tips on getting pin sharp focusing.

I had hoped that the weather in the west today would have scored over haar ridden Edinburgh today, but if anything it was slightly worse.

As I passed through George Square in Glasgow I had a fleeting thought about the imminent presence of the Holy Wean in his crib, now that Christmas starts being celebrated just after the summer holidays, and what do you know, there was a crane in position about to lift what looked like angel wings from a lorry. The Wean will put in an appearance very shortly, I'm sure.

The other feature which I blipped and very nearly published was the traffic cone, so usually resplendent on the head of the horseman outside the Art Gallery on Queen Street, riding pillion. It did make me smile.
