Macon - Bonneville
I took so many photos from today it was difficult to choose.
Scenery today has been awesome and a plenty! The result of today would mean that a. we would arrive in Bonneville and b. tomorrow James would have a much deserved rest day before the next challenge begins.
The climbs again were getting greater and harder but the end result was worth it. That last push.
I have spent a lot of the time using my sat nav to try and keep on the same roads as James alas 'wendy' took me a different way on the last leg to the hotel and in doing so had a bit of an epic with a different symbol and a different noise an annoying mooing noise as well! It left me quite perturbed for a while and meant driving wasn't great until I figured out what the strange symbol was... the bloody thing was telling me the distance to the nearest cable cars/ ski lifts!!
So by the time I got to the hotel I was a little bit in a frenzy and having coped really well with my French throughout the trip it completely failed me on this occasion! After 5 minutes of trying to cope there was a definite language barrier so a phone call to my friend C an ex colleague who is a French teacher and the job was done. We had decided to stay at the hotel that we were meeting a group of people to complete the next challenge so for 2 nights we were in one place. I was glad to get everything sorted and wait for James to arrive!
James had, had pretty much as difficult an afternoon as I had and so getting to Bonneville there was an anti climax to the elation that should have been felt. Food and rest were in order for both and hope the next day felt better!
James it was a magnificent achievement that many that have not been through your experiences could not do. I am proud of you and proud of the trip so far... I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
