Macmillan Alps Challenge

Yesterdays rest day was much needed and James and I felt a whole lot better for it.

The reason James embarked on this challenge to The Alps was to meet up with 34 other riders that were to embark on a challenge to complete 6 colls in 3 days culminating in the Alp D Huez. All were doing this for one common cause... Macmillan Cancer Support.

They all arrived at the hotel yesterday evening after arriving into Geneva by plane, following a glitch with our flagship airline their bikes followed in a van and arrived during the night.

So the first job this morning was to put all their bikes together before setting off.

It was a bit of a shock to the system as we were woken up at 6.30... James has been setting off at 9.30 - 10am!

I was sharing a room with S a lovely Australian one of the cyclists and unfortunately it had been a bit warm in the hotel room and I had snored all night. oops! Need to acquire some ear plugs for S tonight!

The first days Cols to be completed were Col des Aravis and Col des Saisies. I was acting as a support car with water and snacks.

Weather was excellent, scenery superb and the end destination tonight was Albertville on first impression the hotel looked a bit like Alcatraz however once inside it was absolutely lovely!
