despite having to dash back to terminal 1 from terminal 4 (transit bus, through passport control, through baggage hall, out to information desk, retrieve forgotten ipod, heathrow express to terminal 4, back through security and off to the gate...), we did make the plane

it was one of the those planes which make you feel like the adventure has already started.
