Harbour antics

Tonight was the Guernsey Harbour Calvacade. All day boats have been heading into St Peter Port to enjoy the water-bound antics.

This is the Ladies' Dinghy Race - first heat. And pretty vicious it turned out to be. It seemed fairly clear that the tactics were not to get to the turn round point first - where one picked up extra team members. If you got there first you would be hemmed in by the boats coming behind.

And thus it proved. The lifeguards (who might have been supposed to be favourites) lost to a bunch from a tanning studio!

Anyway, it was a bit wet for all concerned!

Thankfully - at last - the sun appeared late afternoon. Will it stay? Watch this space.
