Enjoying the Sunshine
Today started a bit rocky only because we had about 3 1/2 hours of sleep between the drive-in and the boys getting up at 6 am and letting everyone know they're up! But I knew once I got to church and spent time with the girls in my class I would be awake and smiling. The day was beautiful, so I decided to hold class outside today :) Look at these cute little girls working on pictures of what they think 'peace' looks like. They're starting to get this month's verse down...but struggle with one certain word that's SO long for a 1st & 2nd grader: edification!
Enjoyed an after church lunch with Julie, her girls and her dad Gary as well as Kristin! Gary was at a clinic with our puppy, so he couldn't join us. We tried our best at wearing the kids out in playland....because I was still dragging from too much fun the day before. Kristin stopped by afterwards to smell all of the Scentsy candle sample-smells from the catalog party I am having. It was nice to catch up with her, although the boys were anxiously asking how long it would be before I could watch them play out in the front yard. It is really hard to get a word in edgewise when little birdies were popping in every 2 minutes during our conversation. So then I finally followed them outside for some playtime. It is so awesome to watch Landon practicing bike riding without training wheels. Loren helped him some more as well as myself...and he can now go a little ways balancing and pedaling on his own. His main struggle is learning how to push off on his own, but he is doing so well for a little guy!
The evening was spent with 'clean out the fridge' night of leftovers. Quite a strange mixture --- mac n' cheese, grapes, carrots with hummus and falafel with cucumber sauce. They got to pick which foods they were combining on their plates...but in our family, we let no food go to waste. It was also spent with a bit of Wii time and filling out picture order forms for school picture day tomorrow. Ughhh. Gary was gone for the evening with youth group and youth leader dinner afterwards, so by the time he got home it was time for happy slumber.
